About
My name is Gina Tron, and I’m an indie author who got tired of doing my own PR. It’s not that I dislike it. I actually enjoy doing it. I’ve worked in media and television production since high school. While working as a technical director by day, I moonlighted as a PR director for indie fashion shows and a Brooklyn fashion incubator. Getting media placements for clients in The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal came naturally for me.
But when it came time to promote my own books — small-press poetry books and memoirs — I realized how few authors could afford legitimate publicity. I’ve always done my own, relentlessly. I’ve single-handedly received coverage in outlets like Interview Magazine and The New York Post (not bad for a small press poetry book). For my latest memoir, I hoped to take a step back and hire PR. But every PR firm I approached quoted me thousands of dollars just to start, far beyond what most indie authors can afford. Or, I found scams. Lots and lots of scams.
That’s when it hit me: Why doesn’t a legit, affordable PR service exist for indie authors? So, I created one.
Indie-Outie exists for writers who’ve stayed “in” too long. It’s time to get out. My goal is to help indie authors get their work into the world without breaking their budgets or their spirit. I love supporting other indie authors!
I work at a marketing firm. I’m also a PR consultant for multiple clients, including a fashion designer and a sponsor of a neurodivergence organization. I love using my PR skills and experience to uplift fellow independent voices in the literary world.
